‘It’s embarrassing’ – Arne Slot lambasted for his Liverpool ‘complaints’

Arne Slot is facing questions over his decisions for the first time since joining Liverpool as his team have hit a disastrous run of form.

Liverpool’s 3-2 defeat to Brentford at the weekend meant they have now lost four Premier League games in a row, and five of their last six in all competitions.

Football Insider warned on 26 October that Liverpool are one defeat away from crisis with major questions being asked of the manager after their recent results.

The Reds have now dropped to seventh in the league table and are seven points behind league leaders Arsenal after just nine games played.

As a result, Football Insider revealed that Liverpool are beginning to have doubts about Slot, and while there is no immediate sack pressure, questions will be asked.

Arne Slot slammed for bizarre Liverpool complaints

Following the defeat to Brentford, Slot bemoaned his side’s inability to deal with long balls and set pieces, and revealed his frustration at the style of play.

This comes shortly after Slot criticised Ruben Amorim‘s decision to leave Benjamin Sesko out of his Man United team, in a bizarre rant about clubs rotating players.

Former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown has been highly critical of the manager’s “embarrassing” comments, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Liverpool must find a way to adapt to beating different styles.

Of course Slot is under pressure at Liverpool and he’ll be frustrated,” he told Football Insider.

“The result wasn’t good enough, and to lose four games in a row in the Premier League is a disaster, so there are going to be questions asked of him.

“But you can’t start looking down your nose at other teams and aspects of the game.

“Coming out afterwards and complaining about other teams playing long throws and long balls, it’s embarrassing. It’s his job to prepare for and deal with those.

“Not every single team is going to play the same way, it’s just the way the game is.

“He can’t be surprised coming up against Brentford, who have made a name from utilising set pieces and maximising the assests they’ve got in their team.

“It’s up to Liverpool to deal with that, and they didn’t have an answer against Brentford.

“It’s the same after the game against Man United, when he moaned about other teams changing their starting XIs, honestly it’s embarrassing and it makes him look bad.”

Slot has been slammed for his decision-making in recent weeks, with questions set to be asked again following the Brentford defeat as pressure ramps up.

Liverpool asking questions of Slot after recent form

Brown told Football Insider on 20 October that Liverpool are concerned about Slot as a result of their recent poor form with pressure beginning to grow.

Following their midweek victory against Eintracht Frankfurt, the Reds had hoped to build and push on with their domestic form, but that has not been the case.

They will now face Crystal PalaceAston VillaReal Madrid and Man City in the coming weeks, all of whom have got the better of Slot’s side over the past two seasons.

Many critics have now turned towards Slot with their criticism, given the money spent to bolster his squad and the high expectations he has set.

Alongside a host of other key players, Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz are causing concerns for Liverpool after struggling to adjust to their big-money summer moves.
