‘It’s going to be a second-rate appointment’ – Wolves’ likely next manager proves they’re in trouble
Wolves are on the search for their next manager but the candidates for the role prove that the club are in a bit of a mess.
Vitor Pereira was sacked by the Midlands side, following a winless first ten games of the Premier League season.
The Old Gold’s 3-0 defeat to Fulham last weekend proved to be Pereira’s last match in charge, with the Molineux outfit now eight points adrift of safety.
Gary O’Neil had been linked with a shock return to Wolves, but he has now pulled out of the race and the club have moved on to other options.

Sam Allardyce and two other managers linked to Wolves
Robbie Keane and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are both in the running for the Wolves job, and veteran manager Sam Allardyce has refused to rule himself out of the race.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that the calibre of names being linked to the Old Gold proves that they are in “a bit of a mess”.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Wolves will know they are in trouble, now that they are being linked with the likes of Allardyce.
Wyness added that Keane and Solskjaer are both realistic candidates to replace Pereira, as the club are struggling to find someone to take the job.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “It could be a Robbie Keane who may go to Celtic or Wolves or an Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“I think it’s going to be a second-rate appointment, as they don’t have somebody that they had planned for, and they’re struggling now to get somebody to take it. So it’s going to be one of those names who is sort of without a club at the moment that really would be looking for something.
“Even Sam Allardyce was mentioned, and you know when Sam’s been talked on the radio, you’re in trouble and that you haven’t got a plan.
“So look, it’s a bit of a mess at Wolves and I’ve got to say the reality is that this whole problem is resting with Fosun as owners who’ve been detached, and with Jeff Shi, who has made some very difficult decisions and they’re all proving to be bad ones at the moment.”
Wolves consider former Man United manager
Meanwhile, Wolves are also reportedly considering Erik Ten Hag for their vacant managerial role.

That is according to former Man United chief scout Mick Brown, who claims that the Dutch boss’s agent has been speaking to the Old Gold.
Ten Hag was recently sacked by Bayer Leverkusen after just two league games in charge, meaning he is now looking for a new club.
The ex-Man United manager could now be set for a return to the Premier League with Wolves running out of other options.
