Michael Brown believes that the Tottenham squad will be “delighted” to see the likes of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son back in training after their absences.

The former Spurs midfielder, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, insists that having some of the club’s biggest stars back will be a “huge” morale boost for their teammates.

Mourinho confirmed earlier this week that Kane and Son, along with Moussa Sissoko and Steven Bergwijn, are all back in training in north London after their respective injury layoffs.

Sissoko and Kane have both been missing since the start of 2020, with the duo both requiring surgery.

Having seen his old side put in some indifferent performances prior to the shutdown of the Premier League, Brown believes the squad will be over the moon to have their talismans back.

Brown told Football Insider: “I think it’s a massive boost, everyone will be delighted, for sure. I think we saw, in that last period of games, they looked really light, didn’t they, without the likes of Kane and Son.

“It’s a huge boost, well needed. Hopefully they can have a really good end to the season so Jose Mourinho gets a true feel of his squad and what he thinks he definitely needs.

“He’ll already know what he needs but it might be a bit more positive, the outcome of the season, when it looked like it was going to fall away a little bit.

Since losing Kane and Sissoko at the start of January, Spurs have won three of their eight Premier League games, while they have also been knocked out of the Champions League and the FA Cup.

Despite his injury problems, the England striker has still managed to net 17 goals in 25 appearances across all competitions.
