West Ham fans are unhappy with David Moyes after he said he had ‘no idea’ about Lucas Paqueta’s injury updates this week.
The Hammers are set to return to Premier League action on Sunday with a trip to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United.
A win would close help West Ham close the gap to London rivals Tottenham in fifth and put them firmly in the race for European qualification.
However, Moyes will travel to Yorkshire this weekend with several key players unavailable due to injury, suspension and international duties.
Mohammed Kudus and Nayef Aguerd are unavailable due to their participation in the African Cup of Nations, Said Benrahma is unavailable due to suspension and Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio, Edson Alvarez, Pablo Fornals and Paqueta are all sidelined through injury.
Paqueta provided fans with an update on his rehabilitation via a video on social media this week, but Moyes insists he has ‘no idea’ how the Brazilian’s recovery is going.
“I have no idea, no idea what I can say to you on that, I do not look at social media so I don’t know what pictures have been posted. I couldn’t tell you what he is doing in the gym, couldn’t tell you about the work he is doing to get himself ready faster, he needs his tendon injury to heal so sorry I couldn’t give you anymore on that,” he said.
Hammers fans on social media were left angered by Moyes’ comments, with supporters accusing Moyes of having a ‘sulk’.
