‘It’s over at Man United’ – Rasmus Hojlund’s likely destination revealed after Fulham swoop
Manchester United star Rasmus Hojlund is likely to secure a return to Italy despite Fulham’s interest in signing him.
Former Old Trafford chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider Ruben Amorim has told Hojlund to leave following the £74million signing of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.
Hojlund was left out of Amorim’s squad for the 1-0 opening-day defeat to Arsenal in a clear indication his time in Manchester is coming to an end.
The 22-year-old has largely failed to impress for Man United since joining in a £72million deal from Atalanta in 2023.
Fulham have been linked with a move for Hojlund alongside Serie A clubs AC Milan, Napoli and Atalanta.

Fulham race Italian giants to sign Rasmus Hojlund
This article contains exclusive comment from Keith Wyness, former Everton, Aston Villa and Aberdeen CEO.
Football Insider revealed on 12 August Hojlund is only likely to leave on loan this summer despite Man United’s hopes of securing a permanent deal.
The Denmark international has registered 26 goals and six assists in 95 appearances during his two-year stint at Old Trafford.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness said: “It appears to be over.
“Look, what am I reading? AC Milan, Napoli and Fulham. Those are the sort of clubs going for him.
“It was £72million they paid. You’re looking at £30-40million. Wow. I don’t know what to make of that one.
“It’s one of those sort of Ten Hag signings and the whole Jim Ratcliffe era. We won’t go down the Ratcliffe rabbit hole.
“But I do think for Hojlund it is over. I think as everybody admitted, United looked more impressive at the weekend going forward.
“They didn’t get the result, but still I think there’s a lot to work on. I think when Sesko fits in there, I don’t think there’ll be a way for Hojlund, even as a backup.
“I think he deserves to get a chance somewhere else. I think Italy would be great for him, and I think that’s where he may well end up.
“If Fulham can sneak him in the Premier League, I think he could do a job for them, but I do think he’s going to end up in Italy.”

Man United signing plan after Sancho and Garnacho exits revealed
In terms of other transfer activity, Football Insider revealed on 17 August Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho must leave Man United before they can move for their ambitious targets.
It comes after they have been priced out of a deal for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba, with the Seagulls reluctant to sell him this late in the window.
Amorim is looking to strengthen his side further as he hopes to challenge higher up the Premier League table this season.
