Ivan Toney: Man United make transfer decision after surprise bid news
Brentford are desperate to cash in on striker Ivan Toney amid interest from the Saudi Pro League, sources have told Football Insider.
The Bees initially wanted to keep the forward at the club, but he has declined to sign a new contract and his current agreement is due to expire at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
Brentford’s situation has been made more desperate by the surprising lack of interest from Premier League clubs – who had been keen on the striker before the summer window.
Tottenham, Man United and West Ham are among the sides to decline a move for Toney and sign an alternative striker.
Toney can sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign sides in January and Thomas Frank’s side want to bank a big-money fee for the England international in the remainder of the summer window.
Brentford desperate for Toney deal after surprise lack of Premier League interest
The Saudi Pro League’s transfer window is open for around an extra week, giving clubs more time to get a deal for the forward done.
Sources say a huge contract offer is on the table for Toney in the Middle East and he will consider the move in the coming days.
The England international, who played for his country at Euro 2024, was left out of the squad for the Premier League curtain-raising win over Crystal Palace on Sunday (18 August).

He returned from a ban for gambling rule breaches in January before managing four goals and two assists across 17 appearances in the 2023-24 campaign.
Toney’s best campaign came in the 2022-23 season when he hit 20 Premier League goals in 33 top-flight appearances.
