‘I’ve heard’ Ezri Konsa is exploring Aston Villa exit options, he’s ‘opened talks’ with a Premier League giant
Ezri Konsa is reportedly looking at his Aston Villa exit options and has already opened talks with one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.
Konsa has been at Villa Park since he joined from Brentford in the summer of 2019, and has developed into one of their most important players.
The 28-year-old has started eight out of nine Premier League games for Unai Emery’s side this season, missing just one through suspension.
After a slow start to the season, Villa have shot up the table in recent weeks, with Konsa earning a lot of praise for his good performances.

Ezri Konsa linked with an Aston Villa exit
On Monday 27 October, Football Insider revealed that Aston Villa are desperate to hold onto Konsa, amid interest from other Premier League clubs.
However, Aston Villa’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Villa Park between 2016 and 2018 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that the England international is looking at his exit options.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness revealed that, according to his sources, Konsa has had initial discussions with Manchester City regarding a move to the Etihad.
Wyness added that nothing is too advanced right now, but Konsa would fit in at City, and there is no smoke without fire.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “He’s been one of the most consistent performers in the Premier League. He’s a quality player.
“I think Konsa would fit in well in the Man City regime right now. Villa would loathe to let him go, but I think there is a chance of this one.
“I’ve heard that there have been initial discussions, but nothing too far advanced right now. He’s certainly looking at his options, that’s what I’ve been led to believe. There is never smoke without fire, so let’s just see where it goes.
“Villa would be very keen to hang on to him because he is that consistent. He’s been a rock in their defence.
“Actually, it’s his centre-back partners that have been the problem for Villa, so they’ve got to work on that as well. Maybe that’s part of the equation. He wants to know what Villa’s plans are for the defence.”
Aston Villa to secure future of star player
Meanwhile, Aston Villa are set to secure the future of another one of their star players, with Morgan Rogers in advanced talks to agree a new deal.

Football Insider exclusively revealed in September that Aston Villa had opened talks with Rogers over a contract extension.
Emery then recently confirmed that negotiations regarding the highly rated midfielder were underway.
Sources say that both parties are now close to an agreement, which would see Villa tie Rogers down for an extended period.
