‘I’ve heard nothing’ – Everton fans won’t like stars update on contract talks

Everton want to tie down their key players to new contracts, but one star has yet to hear anything from the club in an alarming update for fans.

Jordan Pickford has signed a new contract at Everton, which commits the 31-year-old to the club to 2029, in a major boost for David Moyes.

Everton have seven players out of contract next summer, and the club want to ensure that none of their stars leave on a free.

The Toffees have started the season positively, with 11 points picked up from their opening eight Premier League fixtures.

James Garner contract talks update

James Garner is one Everton player whose contract expires in 2026, and the midfielder has been linked with a move to Man United.

However, the 24-year-old has admitted to Four Four Two [24 October] to currently not being in any negotiations over a new deal.

All I know at the moment [is] nothing’s going [on],” Garner said.

There’s been no talks. I know, obviously, my contract’s up in the summer but from my side, I’ve heard nothing.

I’m enjoying my football, of course. It’s been a great start to the season for the club, and I’ve started quite well myself. I just need to keep on improving, keep on winning games and add a little bit more.”

Garner hopes for England call up

Garner has yet to earn a senior England call up, and the Everton star has aims set on a call up in the future if he can add one thing to his game.

It’s definitely a target for me,” Garner commented.

“I feel I’ve got the quality to play in the team. I just need to show it on a more regular basis.

James Garner’s 2025-26 Premier League stats for Everton, as per Fotmob.

Today’s game, unfortunately, is all about statistics. I need to go out there and get some stats to myself, goals, assists. That’s only going to help me.

Garner only has one goal and one assist in the Premier League this season, though he has had to fill in at right-back on a couple of occasions.
