‘I’ve seen the signs already’ – Keith Andrews is struggling at Brentford
Keith Andrews is “under pressure” following Brentford’s opening-day defeat against Nottingham Forest.
Andrews was appointed as the new Brentford boss in June after Thomas Frank left to join Tottenham.
The Irishman joined the Bees last year as their set-piece coach before being trusted to make the step up into the managerial position.
Andrews saw his side suffer a 3-1 defeat in his first competitive match in charge against Forest at the City Ground on Sunday (17 August).
Brentford are now preparing to take on Aston Villa in their first home game of the new Premier League season on Saturday (23 August).

Brentford could lose more stars after big-name exits
This article contains exclusive comment from Keith Wyness, former Everton, Aston Villa and Aberdeen CEO.
Brentford have lost former captain Christian Norgaard as well as Bryan Mbeumo and Mark Flekken in this transfer window.
Meanwhile, newly-appointed skipper Nathan Collins has been linked with Liverpool and Tottenham, providing another potential headache for Andrews.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness said: “I still have concerns about Keith Andrews coming in as the new manager.
“I think it’s a lot on his shoulders given that they’ve had to get rid of some of their top players and there are still more that may be going.
“We just don’t know yet where that’s going to end up, but I think it’s a lot for a young manager to come in in his first job and to handle that, given the pressure of the Premier League.
“He knows the pressures on him.
“You can tell already in the interviews, so those are the sort of signs I’m looking for right now.
“We’ll see what happens in terms of the end of the window, but there’s a big mark hanging over them right now.”

Brentford respond to Newcastle’s improved Yoane Wissa offer
In terms of another potential exit, Newcastle United have been attempting to sign Yoane Wissa throughout the transfer window, having seen an improved £40million bid rejected for his services on Wednesday (20 August).
The 28-year-old took the unusual step of unfollowing the Bees on Instagram earlier this week as he looks to force through a move following Newcastle’s interest.
Wissa wasn’t named in the Brentford squad for the defeat at the City Ground on Sunday.
