Jack Butland responds as new transfer confirmed at Rangers
Jack Butland has reacted to the latest transfer news emerging out of Rangers ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
The 32-year-old was linked with an Ibrox exit for much of the 2024/25 season, not because of his heroic performances in between the sticks, but rather his errors leading to goals.
Rangers fans destroyed Butland for his mistake against Hibernian in April, though it was a very difficult season for everyone involved in Glasgow, given the change in managers and Celtic’s dominance.

Barry Ferguson’s reign came to a very short end, with Russell Martin now taking charge this summer, and Football Insider understands that the former Southampton man is likely to keep Butland around.
While some supporters may be waiting for an announcement over the goalkeeper’s future, it is the confirmation of a signing that has emerged at Ibrox this summer.
Lyall Cameron arrives as new Rangers player
Taking to Instagram (17 June), the official club account wrote: “Welcome to Rangers, Lyall Cameron,” with the announcement gaining a like from Butland.
Russell Martin to take action at Ibrox this summer
Football Insider verdict
With ageing players still in the squad, such as James Tavernier, Robin Propper, and Cyriel Dessers, it is already clear what the new manager needs to do to turn things around at Ibrox.
Football Insider understands that Martin plans to build around Nico Raskin and Hamza Igamane, with both stars being linked with a move away from Scotland this summer.
Cashing in on these players, however, could help the former Southampton figure to rebuild the squad in order to combat Celtic’s dominance in the Scottish Premiership title race.

Supporters will also be hoping for a positive run in European competition, much like Barry Ferguson managed during his short reign at Ibrox, but several stars have already left.
Vaclav Cerny, who was a much-loved figure at Rangers, Neraysho Kasanwirjo, and Rafael Fernandes have all returned to their parent clubs, and those spots must be refilled ahead of next season.
Tom Lawrence, Ianis Hagi, and Leon Balogun are all set to leave at the end of their contracts, and Martin desperately needs new signings to plug those gaps this summer.
