Jack Butland shares behind-the-scenes reaction as Rangers drawn vs Fenerbahce

Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland took to social media to share a behind-the-scenes reaction after they were drawn against Fenerbahce in the Europa League round of 16.

The 31-year-old played a crucial role for Rangers throughout their Europa League league phase campaign, playing every minute throughout their eight games.

Butland made a high-profile gaffe in their 2-1 defeat to Premier League giants Man United, causing many fans to suggest he should be sold in the summer transfer window.

Rangers have now been drawn against Jose Mourninho’s Fenerbahce, with the first leg set to be played in Turkey.

Philippe Clement’s side are the only Scottish club remaining in European competition following Celtic’s elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Bayern Munich on Tuesday (February 18).

Football Insider revealed (February 19) that Celtic have missed out on more than £9million following their Champions League exit.

The goalkeeper has unsurprisingly been key for Rangers so far this season, starting all 34 of his games across all competitions, conceding 32 goals, and keeping 14 clean sheets in his 3090 minutes of action.

Butland took to Instagram to share an image that appeared to be from the club’s training facility to acknowledge the draw.

Rangers may be the only Scottish side in European football, but they remain 13 points off arch-rivals Celtic in the race for the Scottish Premier League title.

The Glasgow club could see a takeover of the club completed imminently amid talks over a move by 49ers Enterprises.
