Jack Butland to quit Rangers as Liam Kelly deal finalised – fans react
Rangers fans are expecting Jack Butland to be sold after a deal to re-sign Motherwell goalkeeper Liam Kelly draws closer.
Reports claimed that the Ibrox club are closing in on a deal for Kelly, whose contract expires this summer, with small details still to be ironed out.
This comes after Football Insider revealed that Butland has not ruled out a return to the Premier League.
Fans now believe the arrival of Kelly could make room for Butland to leave the club, with one supporter suggesting his exit is “bankrolling” a rebuild at Ibrox.
Kelly, 28, made 43 appearances last season but managed to keep just five clean sheets as Motherwell finished ninth in the league.
He is currently on international duty with Scotland at Euro 2024.
Rangers fans think Jack Butland exit is on after Liam Kelly deal
Reports had initially linked Rangers with a move for Kelly earlier this month, claiming he could come in amid the Premier League interest in Butland.
Fans voiced their displeasure at the idea of Kelly replacing their current number one, but many now expect Butland to leave.
There were some supporters, however, who insisted the deal could be a good one for Rangers.
In other news, Rangers have been told to accept bids for Ianis Hagi.
