Man City wingers Jack Grealish and Phil Foden have reacted to a post on social media from Manuel Akanji after he posted an injury update.
The Swiss defender was taken off at half-time of the 3-2 loss to Real Madrid on 11 February, after suffering a torn abductor muscle.
Akanji is now set for length spell on the side-lines, and was forced to miss out, as his teammates dispatched of Newcastle 4-0 on Saturday (15 February).
Omar Marmoush delighted Man City fans vs Newcastle with a first-half hat-trick, as the Egyptian opened his account for the Sky Blues, following a January move from Frankfurt in Germany.
James McAtee was linked with a January exit from Man City, but the young attacking midfielder remained at the club, and scored the fourth goal for the Citizens in the 84th minute.

Having undergone surgery, Akanji posted a message to City fans on his Instagram, captioned: “Surgery went well. The journey back to recovery has begun. Thanks for all your get-well messages!”

The post was liked by teammates Foden, Grealish, and Savinho, as well as Ethan Nwaneri, who wowed Arsenal fans with his performance against Leicester.
The Swiss defender joins a lengthy injury list that now includes Rodri, Erling Haaland, Oscar Bobb, Jack Grealish, Nathan Ake and Ruben Dias.
Manager Pep Guardiola will be hoping that Haaland and Grealish will be fit in time for the second-leg of their match against Real Madrid, as the two attackers were incredibly influential against the Spanish champions.
