Jack Grealish and Szoboszlai react to Erling Haaland’s gutted Man City message
Erling Haaland was left devastated as he shared an emotional message to Manchester City supporters following their shock Club World Cup exit at the hands of Al Hilal.
Man City suffered an early exit from the Club World Cup after a surprise defeat to the Saudi giants in the round of 16.
Haaland had offered hope for Pep Guardiola’s side, finding the back of the net to level the tie and send the game to extra time.
However, despite his efforts, it wasn’t enough as Marcos Leonardo struck in the 112th minute to seal the win for Al Hilal and send City crashing out.
Haaland delivered impressive performances for Man City throughout the tournament, scoring three goals in total, but ultimately ends the season without silverware.
Several of his teammates, including Rayan Cherki and Jeremy Doku, have already sent heartfelt messages to Man City supporters and Haaland has now followed with a message of his own, reflecting the disappointment shared across the squad.

Man City players and Premier League stars react to Erling Haaland after Club World Cup exit
Following City’s shock exit from the Club World Cup, Haaland shared a disappointed but determined message with supporters on Instagram.
The Norwegian praised City’s opponents and wrote: “Didn’t go our way this time around. Congrats to Al Hilal and best of luck ahead.”
Haaland’s post prompted reactions from several players, including Jack Grealish, Josko Gvardiol and Liverpool’s Dominik Szoboszlai, who all liked the message.
While Grealish wasn’t part of the Club World Cup squad, Haaland made it clear he missed his teammate, stating during the tournament that he “misses” the winger in a social media message, despite Pep Guardiola opting to leave him out.
Despite the disappointment, the competition marked a personal milestone for Haaland as he surpassed 300 career goals. His impressive individual form has carried over from the Premier League, though it ultimately wasn’t enough to prevent City from finishing a season without silverware for the first time in eight years.
