Jack Grealish bids farewell to Man City ‘legend’ in new message
Jack Grealish has taken to social media to send a message to ex-Man City star Joleon Lescott ahead of new manager Thomas Tuchel’s imminent arrival.
Former England and Man City defender Lescott, 42, was a key member of Lee Carsley’s staff during his time as interim manager.
A comprehensive 5-0 win over the Republic of Ireland gave Carsley and his coaches the perfect send-off after leading England to the next round of the UEFA Nations League and giving Tuchel the perfect opportunity to win their first trophy since 1966.
The German has been tasked with breaking England’s World Cup drought and will bring his own staff with him, including former Chelsea and Bayern Munich coach Anthony Barry.
Jack Grealish bracing for new England regime as he says goodbye to ex-Man City man
Grealish, 29, was forced to pull out of Carsley’s last squad as interim manager after picking up an injury ahead of Man City’s 5-0 Champions League win over Sparta Prague earlier in the season.
City have suffered four consecutive defeats in the five games Grealish has missed, marking their worst run since Pep Guardiola took charge in 2016.
The left-winger seems to have found some solace with England after missing out on Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad, taking to Instagram to say bye to Lescott.

With no more international football until March 2025, Grealish will turn his attention to a hectic festive period with Man City.
Their most recent loss to Brighton already has Guardiola’s side five points behind Liverpool in the race for the Premier League title as they prepare to face Tottenham on Saturday (November 23).
