Jack Grealish breaks silence with message after Man City Club World Cup axe

Jack Grealish posted a one-word response away from Man City after Pep Guardiola did not include the Englishman in his Club World Cup squad.

Man City are preparing for the upcoming summer tournament, with their first fixture against Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca set for Wednesday (18 June).

But one player that won’t take part is Grealish, who has been left out of Guardiola’s squad for the Club World Cup. The winger’s omission comes after a frustrating season, where he made just seven Premier League starts and clocked only 715 minutes of action.

The lack of game time has fuelled speculation over his future, with Football Insider reporting that Grealish would be open to a move to Everton as he weighs up his next steps.

While his teammates gear up for more silverware, Grealish shared a subtle response on social media, as fans continue to debate what lies ahead for the former Aston Villa star.

The winger shared a peaceful moment on his Instagram story with the caption: “Peaceful” as speculation around his future continues to swirl.

Erling Haaland appeared to react to Grealish’s absence, hinting at how much he’ll be missed as the squad headed off to prepare for the tournament with a picture of an empty seat on social media.

Meanwhile, Grealish has found game time hard to come by this season, falling behind the likes of Jeremy Doku and Savinho in the pecking order.

Football Insider revealed on 22 May that Grealish believes he has been frozen out by Guardiola — a feeling that now appears even more pronounced with his omission from the squad.

As he spends time away during the summer break, questions continue to mount over whether he will still be a City player by the time the new season begins.

With Kevin De Bruyne’s departure already confirmed and Grealish facing an uncertain future, Ederson is now the latest high-profile name to be linked with a move away from Manchester City.

Man City fans have called for Ederson to be sold after reports emerged that the Brazilian would be open to a move to Saudi Arabia.

He has just one year left ton his current deal so the summer window may be the optimal time to receive a fee.

If he does depart, Ederson could follow De Bruyne and potentially Grealish out the door, as Guardiola’s side prepares for a reshuffle ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
