‘Jack Grealish exit update at Man City as half of Premier League chase deal’

Jack Grealish’s future at Manchester City has been the subject of a surprising new update as numerous Premier League clubs eye his services this summer.

Grealish looks to be edging closer to the end of his time as a regular in Pep Guardiola’s squad, following a poor 2024/25 campaign that saw him struggle to affect Man City’s fortunes in the league and European competition.

He made a £100million [Sky Sports] move to the Etihad Stadium from boyhood club Aston Villa back in 2021, and was a key part of their 2022/23 treble-winning campaign, while also helping them to win the Premier League title either side of that season.

The 29-year-old made just seven league starts last season, however, and looks set to be on his way out of the club this summer as he looks to revitalise his career.

Football Insider revealed on 11 June that Everton and Newcastle United are leading the race for Grealish’s services, and he wants to leave City soon after being left out of their squad for the upcoming Club World Cup.

Grealish will have to wait to leave City this summer amid widespread Premier League interest

With Everton and Newcastle each interested, Football Insider have also revealed that Grealish would prefer to join the Toffees this summer, owing to the potential to be a regular starter under David Moyes ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Despite that interest, and with the transfer window due to officially reopen on Monday (16 June), The i have now reported that an immediate City exit for the 29-year-old is “unlikely.”

They also report that “half of the Premier League is interested” in securing Grealish’s services this summer in light of the terms that he is demanding to leave the Etihad Stadium and his club want in order to let go of him.

Football Insider verdict

Grealish needs to leave City as soon as possible, and he could even be tempted to move away from English football with Serie A outfit Napoli reported to be interested in a move for his services.

His time at the Etihad Stadium has been one of both ups and downs over the years, but his last season certainly included more of the latter as he failed to make any sort of impact in either the Premier League or Champions League while City suffered a surprising downfall compared to their previous campaigns.

The 29-year-old certainly still has a lot to offer, though, as he enters what should be his prime as a player, and he just needs a manager that believes in his ability to give him ample opportunities in the new season as he looks to return to the England reckoning ahead of next year’s World Cup.

Everton boss Moyes is known to be a keen motivator of players who may be down on their luck, and so it is no wonder that Grealish is “excited” by the prospect of playing for the Toffees as they move into the new Hill Dickinson Stadium for 2025/26, as revealed by Football Insider.

The chance to play for a club the size of Everton while staying based in the north-west of the country is surely one that the former Villa man will jump at if the opportunity arises, but he will hope that it is sooner rather than later after this new update.
