‘Jack Grealish given green light to leave Man City amid Rayan Cherki development’

Jack Grealish could be free to leave Manchester City this summer, with a potential replacement already on Pep Guardiola’s radar.

Grealish only started seven Premier League games this season, scoring just one goal in what was a disappointing campaign for the winger.

On the final day, the England international didn’t even make Guardiola’s squad, as the Citizens beat Fulham 2-0 at Craven Cottage.

The 22-year-old has been in Manchester since his move from Aston Villa in 2021, but Football Insider exclusively revealed that Grealish feels as if he is being frozen out of Man City.

Cherki to replace Grealish

If he is to depart this summer, Grealish could be joining Napoli, who have just won their second Serie A title in three years.

City would be reluctant to let the forward go without bringing in a suitable replacement, but it seems as if they have found someone to fill the void.

According to The Telegraph’s football reporter Mike McGrath, Man City are interested in Lyon’s Rayan Cherki.

The 21-year-old has already confirmed that he will be leaving the French club this summer, and it is believed that he has a release clause in his contract of around £20-25million.

It was a successful season in Ligue 1 for the Frenchman, scoring eight goals and picking up 11 assists over the course of the campaign.

City set for summer rebuild

Football Insider Verdict

After relinquishing their Premier League title to Liverpool and ending the season trophyless, Guardiola’s side will be desperate to have a more successful 2025/26 campaign.

Man City seemed to have missed out on Florian Wirtz, who looks to be heading to Anfield, in what is a bitter blow for the Manchester side.

However, City are set to land Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan, as they look to improve the quality of their midfield.

Of course, with Rodri returning from the start of next season, they will immediately get a boost, but incomings are necessary to freshen up the squad.

Despite coming off a difficult campaign, it would be naive to bet against Man City recovering over the summer and getting back to their best in 2025/26.
