‘Jack Grealish backed to complete Man City exit to perfect suitor’

England international Jack Grealish is yet to decide on his future after falling out of favour at Manchester City.

After seeing the 29-year-old endure a lack of game time at the Etihad Stadium, Everton are in the race for Grealish.

The winger has not made a start for Manchester City since their 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup semi-final, and was left out of Pep Guardiola’s Club World Cup squad.

Meanwhile, former Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers chief scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that Tottenham want to sign Grealish after missing out on Morgan Gibbs-White.

Grealish will want to enjoy more game time next season to ensure that he has a chance of featuring for England in next summer’s World Cup.

The former Aston Villa man made just seven starts in the Premier League last season, notching one goal and one assist in the process.

Speaking about the Manchester City man’s future live on talkSPORT [30 July], Gabby Agbonlahor said: “Napoli would be a great move for him.

“I just think what (Antonio) Conte’s done there, won the Scudetto last season.

“What Scott McTominay’s done, MVP there for the league as well, (Billy) Gilmour’s done well there (Romelu) Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne’s gone there, he knows him well as well, so I think that would be a good move for him.”

Having endured a tough time at Manchester City in recent months, the key for Grealish is to start enjoying his football once again ahead of a World Cup year.

As outlined by Agbonlahor, the likes of Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour have both excelled at Napoli after leaving the Premier League to play in Serie A.

Furthermore, Napoli boss Conte is a serial winner who has earned five Serie A titles and a Premier League trophy in an illustrious managerial career, and can get the best out of Grealish.

Even though Napoli signed fellow left winger Noa Lang this summer, the former Aston Villa man would enjoy more playing opportunities in Italy, and he can effectively operate as an attacking midfielder.

Conte’s ambitious transfer activity, including the addition of De Bruyne, shows that he is vying for success across all competitions next season, and the addition of Grealish can bolster the former Chelsea manager’s efforts.
