Jack Grealish: ‘No chance’ of Liverpool catching Man City thanks to ‘unbelievable’ star – pundit

Liverpool have no chance of catching Man City at the top of the Premier League if Jack Grealish finds his best form.

That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the “unbelievable” star.

Grealish scored as Man City beat Peterborough 2-0 in the FA Cup on Tuesday (1 March).

This was his fourth goal for the club since joining in a £100million deal from Aston Villa in the summer of 2021.

He also played the full 90 minutes as Man City beat Man United 4-1 on Sunday (6 March).

McAvennie is delighted for Grealish and hopes he can build on his recent form.

“He’s had some criticism and maybe that’s fair,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“But he’s an unbelievable player. We know this. He is a brilliant player.

“These things take time. It’s a big move for him and even going to a club where everything is there, it might not click for a while.

“Just think how good they will be once Grealish finds his best form, it will happen too, I tell you.

“A goal against Peterborough isn’t the answer to all of the questions but it’s a good start.

“I’m delighted for Jack and I really hope he can take this form into the Premier League.

“If he picks up now, Liverpool have no chance of catching Man City.”

Grealish has made 27 appearances for Man City this season.

City are next in action against Sporting Lisbon on Wednesday (9 March).
