Jack Grealish: Pundit tips Man City star to explode after what he’s seen on social media

Jack Grealish will find his best form for Man City once he returns from his latest injury blow.

That’s according to former Aston Villa hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the struggling City star.

Grealish, who signed from Aston Villa in a blockbuster £100million deal last summer, has missed City’s last three games with a stress-related shin injury.

Pep Guardiola told club media last Friday (18 February) the 26-year-old’s setback is “less severe” but could not put a timeline on his return to action.

The attacker has only scored three goals and has chipped in with three assists in 25 appearances for City.

McAvennie insists Grealish will start to put up better numbers when he returns.

“He’s Villa through and through but he wants to win trophies,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Villa aren’t in a place to do that at the moment and I actually think he has done well at Manchester City.

“So he’s got a shin injury at the moment, he’s always the most fouled player in the league.

“No wonder he has bad shins. He’s spent the last three years being hacked down by every defender in the Premier League.

“He’s an incredible talent, he will come back stronger and he will start to score goals.

“He’s a top lad. I saw videos on social media of him meeting fans and taking extra time to have pictures taken while other players were walking away.

“I love that. When you are happy like that, things just work out. I have no doubt once he is back he will push on and do well.

“He’s been at Villa all his life so it might take a bit longer to adapt. He’s too good to not have a bright career there.”
