Jack Grealish reacts as James Maddison shares emotional message after Tottenham exit
Man City winger Jack Grealish reacted to a heartfelt message from Tottenham’s James Maddison paying tribute following the confirmation of a major departure.
Following a 17-year drought without a trophy, Spurs finally ended their long wait for silverware by claiming the Europa League following a 1-0 win over Man United.
But despite the success in Europe, the North London clubs’ dismal domestic form looked to be the overriding factor when it came to making a decision on who would be the manager next season.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 1 June that Tottenham had decided to part ways with Ange Postecoglou, and the club officially announced the Australian’s departure on 6 June [Tottenham].
Football Insider has also exclusively revealed that Thomas Frank is in pole position to take over in North London, thanks to his proven track record of success in the Premier League.

James Maddison sends touching message to Ange Postecoglou
Following Tottenham’s decision to part ways with Postecoglou, Maddison posted three images of the pair together on Instagram, with a message that read: “Gaffer, where to start.
“Firstly, thank you for bringing me to this wonderful club that I now call my home. Your instant belief in me to not only sign me but make me the clubs vice captain & part of the leadership group from the get go is something I’ll always be thankful for.
“Secondly for the Europa league campaign that started in our stadium on gameweek one and finished perfectly with that special night in Bilbao. You led us to victory and we’re European champions and in this clubs history books because of you and your winning mentality.
“Lastly and most importantly is how you are as a man and a person. Your unwavering self belief and strong mindset is infectious and a massive reason in why you were the man to end this clubs 17 year drought for a trophy.
“A family man with great morales & I have honestly learnt so much from you. More than you will probably ever know. All the very best. Madders”.
The post was liked by City’s winger Grealish, plus Tottenham stars Dominic Solanke and Micky van de Ven.
Tottenham eyeing a move for Man City outcast Jack Grealish
Football Insider Verdict
Former City financial advisor Stefan Borson told Football Insider that Grealish could join Tottenham this summer, if the club can find a solution to his £300,000-a-week wages.
The 29-year-old has seen his playing time with the Sky Blues dwindle season after season, culminating in the ex-Aston Villa man starting just seven Premier League games last term.
With Son Heung-min nearing the end of his legendary career at Tottenham, Grealish would be near-guaranteed to receive a boost to his playing time if he made the move to North London.

Should Frank be the man to take over from Postecoglou, the Danish manager has shown a willingness to give his attacking players licence to find space across the pitch, something the 29-year-old has not been afforded by Pep Guardiola.
But, the issue of his wages makes a deal tricky, unless Grealish is willing to take a pay cut to leave City this summer.
