Jack Grealish reacts to Phil Foden’s post as Man City head to USA without him

Jack Grealish reacted to Phil Foden’s update as Man City’s preparations ramps up ahead of the Club World Cup.

Man City endured a tough 2024/25 campaign, falling well short in the title race and finishing the season without silverware for the first time in eight years.

Now, attention turns to the upcoming Club World Cup, where their first fixture is set against Moroccan champions Wydad Casablanca on Wednesday (18 June).

Foden has been included in the squad despite scrutiny over his performances over the campaign.

However, Foden had a run of reduced minutes under Pep Guardiola towards the end of the season, starting only one of City’s last seven league games.

Still, the Englishman appeared in good spirits as he shared a post marking the squad’s reunion ahead of the summer tournament, prompting reactions from across the Premier League.

The England international shared an update ahead of City’s Club World Cup campaign, posting a plane and USA flag emoji while tagging the tournament in his latest Instagram post.

Foden’s post quickly attracted attention, with likes from teammates and rivals alike including Erling Haaland, Arsenal’s Declan Rice, and Grealish—who has been left out of Man City’s Club World Cup squad.

Despite a disappointing end to the season, Foden remains in Guardiola’s squad, though it remains unclear if he will feature in the starting XI.

Mick Brown, former Man United chief scout, told Football Insider earlier in the campaign that Man City staff raised concerns regarding Foden’s performance levels.

At that stage during the season, he had yet to register a single league goal, eventually ending the campaign with just seven Premier League goals to his name.

While Grealish was active on Foden’s post, their time as teammates could soon be coming to an end.

Football Insider revealed that Grealish is expected to leave Man City this summer, especially after being left out of the Club World Cup squad entirely.

The former Aston Villa star struggled for consistent minutes last season, making only seven Premier League starts.

Football Insider revealed on 22 May that Grealish believes he has been frozen out by Guardiola, with an exit looking closer than ever as he considers his next move.
