Jack Grealish sends ‘amazing’ Lee Carsley message in dig at Pep Guardiola
Man City star Jack Grealish is the latest high-profile England player to join in the praise for the Under-21s side after their UEFA Euro U21 success.
The Young Lions beat Germany 3-2 after extra time after taking a 2-0 lead thanks to Harvey Elliott and Omari Hutchinson, before Nelson Weiper pulled one back before half-time.
The second half saw Paul Nebel draw Germany level, but it was Jonathan Rowe’s header shortly into extra time which saw England lift the trophy.
After success against Spain in 2023, England have now won the tournament back-to-back, with some of the current crop of senior stars heaping the praise on.

Jack Grealish sends Lee Carsley message after England U21 success
Lee Carsley has received plenty of plaudits for his role in leading England to back-to-back trophies, and Grealish has now heaped on the praise.
The Man City star, who is widely expected to leave the Etihad this summer, formed a close relationship with the boss during his interim spell as the England senior manager.
He oversaw six games in between Gareth Southgate and Thomas Tuchel’s reigns, winning five and losing one while clearly leaving his mark on the players.
As Football Insider shared in November, Grealish praised Carsley highly following the end of his interim spell, thanking him for “bringing back the enjoyment in an England shirt”.
Now taking to Instagram following the Euros final, Grealish shared an upbeat verdict on Carsley that could also be viewed as a dig at Pep Guardiola: “Congrats to England u21s! Another amazing achievement! What a manager this guy is. Deserves it.”

Jack Grealish ready to leave Man City after latest update
The England midfielder is expected to depart Pep Guardiola’s side this summer, as Football Insider revealed on 13 June that Grealish’s Man City career is over.
He will be looking to play more regular football in an attempt to get back in the good graces at international level, where he has yet to appear under Thomas Tuchel.
However, the winger’s £350,000 wage demands are set to make a permanent move difficult unless City are willing to take a “massive hit” on their investment.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that City will be forced to accept loan offers for Grealish as a result of his lofty pay packet.
