Jack Grealish sends message to fans after Aston Villa bust-up
Man City star Jack Grealish has taken to social media after clashing with Aston Villa fans in their 2-1 Premier League defeat to his former club.
The 29-year-old was involved in an altercation with Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez after Peter Bankes blew the halftime whistle, with the Argentina international barging into the Man City man.
Erling Haaland then got involved, pushing the goalkeeper before they eventually made their way down the tunnel and into the changing rooms.
Jhon Duran opened the scoring for the home side in the 16th minute before former City youngster Morgan Rogers doubled their lead just after the hour mark.
Phil Foden got a goal back in added time but it turned out to be nothing more than a consolation, with Villa leapfrogging Pep Guardiola’s side in the race for Champions League qualification.
The current champions continue to endure their worst run of form since the legendary Spaniard took over, losing eight, drawing three, and winning just one of their last 12 games across all competitions.
Grealish, having endured boos from the Villa Park faithful throughout the match, responded after the final whistle by holding up three fingers to signify his three Premier League titles.
Jack Grealish continues to struggle as Man City woes get worse
Grealish has failed to make any real impact for Man City this season, starting ten of his 18 games across all competitions, scoring zero goals, and providing zero assists in 940 minutes of action.
The £100million man has remarkably gone over a full year without scoring for his club, with his last goal coming in a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace on December 16th, 2023.
Still, he seems adamant both he and the club can turn this around, taking to Instagram to thank the traveling fans for their support, saying: “We will be back City. Thanks for the great support today.”

Guardiola’s side could fall even further down the table should Andoni Iraola’s impressive Bournemouth beat Man United on Sunday (December 22).
City host Everton in the early kickoff on Boxing Day (December 26) in desperate need of a win if they’re to turn things around.
