Man City ace Jack Grealish has taken to social media to thank the fans for their support after humiliatingly going a full calendar year without scoring for the club.

The 29-year-old didn’t make it off the bench as Man City secured a much-needed 2-0 win over relegation-threatened Leicester City on Sunday (December 29).

Brazilian winger Savinho opened the scoring in the 21st minute with his first goal for the club since joining from fellow City Group club Troyes in the summer.

Erling Haaland then doubled City’s lead in the 74th minute, ending his goal drought of zero in his last four games across all competitions and securing all three points.

City’s win over Leicester sees them climb into fifth, four points behind Chelsea in fourth having played one more game than the West London club.

Pep Guardiola’s side have endured their worst run of form since the Spaniard took over throughout the backend of 2024, winning two, drawing three, and losing eight of their last 13 games across all competitions.

The £100million man has once again found himself on the periphery at Man City, starting 10 of his 18 games across all competitions, scoring zero goals, and providing two assists in his 940 minutes of action.

Man City fans are starting to lose faith in the winger, with many suggesting he’s ‘finished’ and that the club should cut their losses.

The England international’s last club goal came in Man City’s 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace on December 16th, 2023.

Grealish took to Instagram to celebrate the win over Leicester, thanking the away fans for their support despite his lack of form.

Both Man City and Grealish will no doubt be hoping to start 2025 with a bang as they prepare to host a struggling West Ham side on Saturday (January 4).

Guardiola’s side will then host local minnow Salford in their first FA Cup tie of the season, a game in which Grealish could finally break his duck.
