Jack Grealish sends training ground image ahead of Aston Villa return
Man City star Jack Grealish has shared a training ground image ahead of his return to Aston Villa on Saturday (December 21).
The 29-year-old came on for the last 13 minutes of City’s 2-1 Premier League defeat to bitter rivals Man United in the previous round of fixtures, marking their eighth defeat in 11 games across all competitions.
Aston Villa, on the other hand, seem to have turned a corner after a difficult spell, securing three wins on the bounce following an eight-game winless run, before ultimately suffering a 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday (December 14).
A win in the early kick-off would take Unai Emery’s side above Man City, at least temporarily, while defeat could see City fall as low as ninth once the weekend is over.
Jack Grealish continues to struggle at Man City ahead of return to Aston Villa
Grealish is once again struggling to nail down a starting spot under Guardiola, starting nine of his 17 appearances across all competitions, scoring zero goals, and providing two assists in 850 minutes of action.
The winger has now gone over a full year without scoring for his club, with his last goal coming in a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace on December 16th, 2023.
Ending his goal drought against his former club would no doubt be bittersweet for Grealish, who took to Instagram to share an image of himself training hard.

Guardiola’s side have a relatively easy run of fixtures once they get the Villa game out of the way, facing bottom-half sides in their next five Premier League games.
Hopes of a record fifth consecutive league title are quickly fading, however, with Arne Slot’s Liverpool nine points ahead of the current champions.
