‘Jack Grealish set for Manchester City exit after huge Napoli update’

Jack Grealish looks almost certain to be leaving Manchester City this summer, and there is big news about where he might potentially end up.

The winger has been at the Etihad since his move from Aston Villa back in 2021, scoring 17 goals in his 157 appearances since joining.

However, this season the England international has struggled for minutes, starting just 7 Premier League games for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Grealish feels as if he is being frozen out of Man City by the Spanish manager, who has preferred the likes of Jeremy Doku to the former Villa man in recent times.

Grealish set for Napoli move

Napoli wrapped up their second Serie A title in three seasons last week (23 May), with a 2-0 win over Cagliari, ensuring they pipped Inter Milan to the Scudetto by a single point.

Manager Antonio Conte has put an end to speculation surrounding his future, by announcing that he is continuing on in charge of the Naples-based club (The Athletic).

Conte is a big fan of Grealish, and with the 55-year-old staying on as Napoli boss, it may open the door for a potential move.

The England international could follow the likes of Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour, who have both kick-started their careers at the Serie A champions.

Grealish can get back to his best

Football Insider Verdict

Grealish has struggled for consistency at Man City, and the winger has been unable to completely master Guardiola’s complicated system since his arrival.

Back in his Villa days, the 29-year-old was a completely different player, given a free-roaming role which allowed him to showcase his technical abilities and creativity.

However, under Guardiola his flair has been stunted, and for the good of his career, Grealish must move to a club that allows him to utilise his maverick playstyle.

McTominay is loved at Napoli, and the City attacker would likely receive the same adoration if he made the switch to Italy.

If the Englishman can get back to his best, then a Three Lions call-up for the 2026 World Cup is a distinct possibility as well, which should be all the motivation he needs.
