‘Jack Grealish speculation increases after major Man City to Everton news’

Man City star Jack Grealish’s chances of teaming up with David Moyes at Everton may have just moved one step closer.

The 29-year-old has plummeted to the bottom of Pep Guardiola‘s pecking order at the Etihad Stadium, which has seen him pick up just seven league starts during the 2024/25 season.

He ended his 16-month goal drought in the Premier League by scoring the opener in a 2-0 win over Leicester City in April, netting after just two minutes in front of the home crowd.

Due to his absence from the starting lineup so regularly, many supporters have suggested a falling out between Grealish and Guardiola, and that idea is more rife now than ever after missing out on the Club World Cup squad.

Multiple clubs have been linked with the former Aston Villa man, including a potential return to Villa Park, but Football Insider understands that Grealish prefers a move to Everton over Newcastle United.

Everton the ideal destination for struggling Jack Grealish

The City winger has bitten back on social media a couple of times as speculation grows around his fewer at the Etihad, and it is unlikely to end until the summer transfer window closes or he secures a move.

Keith Wyness, however, told Football Insider that the main issue with a transfer for Grealish is Everton overcoming his wages, with his parent club likely having to cover some of the expenses on a loan deal.

While Iliman Ndiaye is a natural first choice on the left wing for Moyes, the City star’s ability to shift inside certainly sees him emerge as a contender to succeed Abdoulaye Doucoure in attacking midfield.

The season-long loan would also present a chance for Grealish to start afresh with a clean slate, having seen his development and game time completely diminish under Guardiola.

Man City staff to bring talented winger to Merseyside

Now, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein (12 June), City’s director of scouting & recruitment, James Smith, is set to depart for a move to the Hill Dickonson Stadium this summer.

He is seen as a key future staff member for the Toffees, having worked with Moyes at Goodison Park during his first spell, then following him to Man United at Old Trafford.

With the pathway set for a Manchester to Merseyside switch it may affect Grealish’, it has, undoubtedly’s situation with a voice to strengthen the possibility he follows from the Etihad.

There is plenty of work that needs to be done before the out-of-favour winger finds a new home, but with Smith’s recent contacts in Manchester, speculation on the chances of the player making the move will have shot up.

The Friedkin Group‘s investment could bring about an extremely exciting transfer window for the Merseysiders, but with the owners unlikely to splash the cash too far, a loan may be needed to make a deal work.
