Jack Grealish to Everton: ‘Huge’ update from senior source
Jack Grealish is set for a move away from Man City this summer and Everton are one of the teams in the race to land his signature.
Grealish has fallen out of favour at City over the last few months, losing his place in the England squad as a result of his lack of game time at club level.
During the most recent Premier League campaign, the 29-year-old was made just seven starts in Pep Guardiola‘s side as City failed to defend their title.
Serie A champions Napoli have shown an interest in the winger, but Football Insider has revealed (11 June) that Everton and Newcastle United are leading the race at this early stage of the summer window.
However, Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between
2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has insisted his former club must overcome a major stumbling block if they are to bring Grealish to Merseyside.

‘Everton can only afford Grealish on loan’, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness suggested Everton would struggle to pay Grealish’s wages, with a loan move presenting the only possible route to a deal.
The winger cost Man City a then-British-record fee of £100million just under four years ago.
| Starts | Subbed on | Goals | Assists |

Wyness added that City would have to continue paying part of Grealish’s salary if he were to join Everton.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I just don’t see how that big financial chasm is going to be filled.
“A loan would be the only potential option I could really see, where City would carry on paying part of his wages and Everton contributing.
“There is a possibility, but I think Everton have got bigger rebuilds to doand I don’t know if they’re to build a team around a 29-year-old like Jack at the moment, so that’s the issue there.
“I’m very fond of Jack as a person and I just love watching him play.
“All the experts, when I was at Villa, when we had him, they’d always tell me, watch the way Jack accepts the ball and he is a yard quicker than everybody else, just on the way he controls the ball and accepts it.
“I don’t know what Moyes would do, he’d need somebody as a striker to be able to service, but certainly Ndiaye and Grealish would be fabulous to have behind the striker, and make them a very attacking team to watch.“

‘Everton plan sensational Liverpool double deal‘
Meanwhile, Everton are reportedly interested in signing both Ben Doak and Joe Gomez from rivals Liverpool this summer.
Former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown has claimed Arne Slot could allow the pair to leave Anfield this summer.
After Liverpool’s recent signing of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, Gomez has fallen down the Reds’ pecking order – while Doak is also unlikely to get significant game time next season.
