Jack Grealish responds to Tyrone Mings’ Aston Villa message amid Man City exit news

Manchester City star Jack Grealish has responded to an Aston Villa throwback posted by former teammate Tyrone Mings.

Before moving to the Etihad Stadium in 2021, where he has won three Premier League titles, the Champions League, and an FA Cup, Grealish made over 200 appearances for boyhood club Villa.

The England international’s efforts in claret and blue helped the West Midlands club win promotion from the Championship in 2019.

Grealish then went on to thrive at Premier League level for the Villa Park side during both the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons.

Grealish responds as Mings looks back on Villa playoff success

Tuesday, 27 May marks six years to the day since Villa beat Derby County 2-1 in the Championship playoff final to win promotion back to the Premier League.

Mings marked the anniversary by posting a photo of himself lifting the playoff trophy at Wembley on his Instagram story [27 May], captioned “6 years ago today”, while Grealish, John McGinn, and Alan Hutton can be seen celebrating in the background.

Grealish reminisced as he reposted the photo on his own story.

Grealish is expected to leave Man City for one of two destinations

While Grealish enjoyed a largely successful Villa career, he has fallen out of favour at Man City, which was epitomised when Pep Guardiola chose to leave him out of the action as the North West side were beaten 1-0 by Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final on 17 May.

To get his career moving in the right direction once more, the 29-year-old should be keen to leave the Etihad Stadium, especially with next summer’s World Cup in mind.

Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Grealish has attracted interest from Napoli and two Saudi Pro League clubs ahead of next season.

The England ace could prove to be a great acquisition for the freshly crowned Serie A champions, who could be keen to bolster their options on the wing after selling Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to PSG last January.

The Georgia international will hope to help the Paris giants beat Inter in the Champions League final in Munich on Saturday, 31 May.
