Jack Harrison finally finished at Leeds United as bid ready to end Premier League transfer race

Leeds United fans may finally be about to see the back of Jack Harrison in the January transfer window.

The winger has returned to Elland Road this season after spending the last two years out on loan at Everton in order to continue playing in the Premier League.

Harrison has become a hugely unpopular figure among Leeds fans due to the lack of willingness that he showed to help the club fight their way out of the Championship, and their relationship with him hasn’t improved at all this term.

The Whites’ hierarchy supplied Daniel Farke with significant reinforcements in the summer, so Harrison has been little more than a bit-part player, but his presence alone is still a source of frustration for supporters.

Ruben Vargas bid to spark Leeds exit for Jack Harrison

Football Insider revealed back in September that Tottenham had their eyes on Sevilla winger Ruben Vargas, and Leeds have also shown an interest in recent days.

The Switzerland international has been in fine form in La Liga so far this term, as he already has seven goal involvements from his opening 12 appearances in league action.

That form has seen him draw significant links to the Premier League ahead of the January window, and now it looks as though that move could be about to become a reality.

Leeds are preparing an offer worth £17.5million for Vargas, according to Orgullo Biri, and that is set to put them at the front of the queue for his signature in January.

Spurs and Aston Villa are also following the wideman “closely”, but Leeds’ prospective offer looks set to see them win the race ahead of their Premier League rivals.

With the likes of Harrison, Noah Okafor, Daniel James, Wilfried Gnonto and Lukas Nmecha already Farke’s ranks, the German is well-stocked for players who can fill the wide roles for his team.

As a result, if the West Yorkshire outfit were to get the Vargas deal over the line, then it would surely spell the end for Harrison, given his current lack of football.

Who could Jack Harrison be sold to in January?

Leeds showed an interest in signing Harry Wilson from Fulham recently, but that pursuit is likely to fade away if they were to land Vargas.

However, Fulham could yet represent the most realistic solution to get Harrison off their books next month, with the West Londoners understood to have been interested in him during his loan at Everton last February, according to the Daily Mail.

Football Insider recently revealed that Fulham plan to sell Adama Traore in the upcoming window, while Wilson is also out of contract next summer.

Marco Silva will likely need a new winger as one of his top priorities in the coming months, and with that in mind, Leeds could surely be able to tempt them into a deal.
