Jacob Murphy reacts to Bruno Guimaraes’ message as ‘fighting’ Newcastle images shared
Bruno Guimaraes sent a rallying cry to Newcastle United fans after they recorded a 3-0 win over Leicester City on Monday.
Eddie Howe’s side continued their push towards Champions League football by easily brushing aside the relegation-bound Foxes; Jacob Murphy scoring twice in the first 11 minutes to open a comfortable lead.
Harvey Barnes then struck against his former employers to make it 3-0, 11 minutes before half-time, and the second half proved to be a training exercise for Newcastle as Leicester hardly laid a glove on them.
As a result, the Magpies are back up to fifth in the Premier League table, displacing Manchester City and Aston Villa in the process and drawing level on points with Chelsea in fourth with a third straight victory.

Guimaraes issues ‘keep fighting’ message after Newcastle win
Having been appointed as Newcastle’s captain this season, Guimaraes’ role and influence as a leader at St. James’ Park has only increased, coinciding with their most successful season in a very long time.
Since lifting the EFL Cup aloft alongside Jamaal Lascelles at Wembley last month, Guimaraes’ form has from strength to strength with Newcastle pushing towards securing a return to the Champions League.

Football Insider revealed in March that being back in Europe’s elite could be the only way for Newcastle to keep Guimaraes this summer amid interest from Arsenal, but the Brazilian hasn’t been phased by this.
Posting on Instagram after full-time (7 April) with a selection of images liked by Murphy, Guimaraes said: “Three very important points to keep fighting for our dreams! Thank you for the support, Geordies.”
Guimaraes at heart of new-look Newcastle next season
With the Magpies looking likely to secure a Champions League place, a significant summer of spending will be on the cards, but Howe will also be minded to ensure he keeps hold of the likes of Guimaraes.
Sandro Tonali has already informed Newcastle’s higher-ups that he wants to leave for pastures new regardless, with Eberechi Eze sounded out as a successor to slot in alongside Guimaraes and Joelinton.
Football Insider also revealed in February that Liverpool see Alexander Isak as their leading target this summer, but it remains to be seen if they’ll be able to match Newcastle’s £100million valuation.
Newcastle are also in talks to bring former Everton man Moise Kean back to the Premier Lague after his red-hot form for Fiorentina, but Isak, Tonali and Guimaraes’ futures must be resolved first at St. James’.
