Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Rogers react to Ezri Konsa’s message amid Aston Villa fire sale

Ezri Konsa’s latest message has caught the attention of Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Rogers, after the news that Aston Villa could be forced into a number of sales this summer.

Unai Emery’s side missed out on Champions League football in heartbreaking fashion, finishing behind fifth-place Newcastle on goal difference.

Villa lost 2-0 to Manchester United on the final day of the Premier League season, with Amad Diallo and Christian Eriksen grabbing the goals for the Red Devils.

However, the major talking point of the game was the controversial decision to disallow Rogers’ goal, with the score still at 0-0.

The error is set to cost Aston Villa over £150million in revenue, which could leave them struggling to meet PSR regulations.

Konsa could be moving on

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Konsa could be set to join Chelsea this summer, as Enzo Maresca looks to strengthen his defensive options.

The centre back played 34 out of the 38 Premier League games this season, popping up with two goals for Emery’s side.

Konsa has been at the Midlands-based club since his 2019 move from Brentford, but Villa could be forced to sell players after missing out on Champions League money.

Amid the rumours, the 27-year-old took to Instagram to look back on his 2024/25 campaign, posting a montage of his best moments, with the caption reading: “24/25” with a purple heart.

Villa teammate Rogers commented fire emojis, with midfielder Ramsey liking the post to show his support.

Football Insider Verdict

Both Rogers and Ramsey have been mentioned as potential sellable assets, after Aston Villa’s former CEO Keith Wyness exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Villa need to raise £150m-200m.

Ramsey is already the subject of interest from Arsenal and Tottenham, while Rogers could be off to Manchester City or Chelsea.

While it can be seen as slightly unfair that Villa are in this position as a result of a refereeing error, it is poor management of a club to be relying on results.

Aston Villa are a big enough side that they should be able to function effectively regardless of on-pitch performances.

There is no guarantee that they will make the Champions League every year, and the excessive spending on wages and players has come back to bite them.
