Jadon Sancho ‘eyes Man United return from Chelsea under Ruben Amorim’
Jadon Sancho may be keeping his eye on a potential return to Man United after his loan spell with Chelsea now that Ruben Amorim has been appointed.
After a tough period at Old Trafford following his move from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021, the winger has spent most of 2024 out on loan elsewhere.
Having returned to the Bundesliga side for the second half of last season after falling out with former boss Erik ten Hag, the 24-year-old then moved to Stamford Bridge on a season-long loan in the summer.
It seems as though he is looking to retain some relations with Man United though, recently liking Instagram posts from the likes of Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes after their win over Everton.
In the circumstances, it could be argued that such activity might suggest that the winger is keeping his options open over a return to Old Trafford at the end of this season.
Erik ten Hag exit changes things at Man United
It seemed as though one of the key issues for the former Man City youth prospect during his time with the Red Devils, was his relationship with Ten Hag.
Sancho did not seem to see eye to eye with the Dutchman, and being told to train away from the first-team at one point, and that he would not play for Man United again under him [Sky Sports].
That came after the Man United man had refused to apologise to the Dutchman for comments he made in response to public criticism from his manager.
Under that regime it therefore seemed as though Sancho’s position at the club was untenable, and a move away did make sense.
Things have of course now changed, with Ten Hag departing at the end of October to be replaced by Ruben Amorim.
It is a change that could open up a new door for Sancho when it comes to his Man United career if the permanent clause in his Chelsea loan deal isn’t activated.

The new manager may be keen to give his full squad a clean slate, and could therefore be open to giving the winger a fresh chance, once his loan spell at Stamford Bridge comes to an end.
A return to the fold at Man United under the new manager may also be appealing for the 24-year-old, given the Portuguese’s reputation for success with Sporting, and bright start at Old Trafford where he is rejuvenated various players already.
It could be a way to recoup some of his own reputation after a previously difficult spell at one of the world’s top clubs, and may give him the chance for more success as well.
Chelsea may be obligated to make his move permanent however, but only is certain terms are met (Sky Sports), and after a mixed spell so far not all fans appear convinced that would be right at Stamford Bridge.
All of that surely means that for one reason or another, it shouldn’t be a total shock to see Sancho dropping hints that he is not ready to completely sever ties with Old Trafford just yet.
In other news, Mason Mount has given his reaction to Man United’s win over Everton.
