Jadon Sancho thrills pundit with what he did in Aston Villa draw vs Bournemouth: ‘I have to say…’

Jadon Sancho may have been the standout in Aston Villa’s draw with Bournemouth on Saturday.

The Villans travelled down to the Vitality Stadium in search of getting back to winning ways in the Premier League.

Morgan Rogers goal was cancelled out by Rayan’s equaliser, as Unai Emery’s side may now have fallen out of the title picture.

Villa had a busy transfer window, and there’s been lots of noise around the returns of Tammy Abraham and Douglas Luiz at Villa Park, but Sancho continues to go under the radar.

His performance against Bournemouth may have once again proved why Emery is keen on persisting with the winger.

Sancho has been linked with a return to Manchester United after struggles with Villa, but has never once sulked about anything. But the loanee has now started to become a regular in Emery’s starting lineups, and it’s clear to see why.

The Villans went into the break with a 1-0 advantage, and Sancho’s first-half showing was a big reason why.

While commenting on the BBC‘s live matchblog, Jobi McAnuff picked out the sequence that led to Rogers’ goal, and couldn’t help but give praise to Sancho too.

McAnuff said: “Rogers is a real bright spark for Aston Villa so far. There’s been one or two occasions that it hasn’t quite come off, but this time it was really brilliantly placed.

“Sancho is involved again, really nice intricate football in and around the box. Rogers, power, accuracy, into the roof of the net. What a strike. I have to say that in this final third, Aston Villa have looked so good this afternoon.”

But given the recent evidence seen on Sancho, one of Villa’s winter transfer decisions now makes sense.

Only one reason why Aston Villa kept Leon Bailey in the winter market

Emery clearly favours Sancho over Leon Bailey, and it’s going to be hard for the latter to pick up game time in games coming up.

The Jamaican’s loan with Roma was abruptly cancelled after injuries and poor displays, so it begs the question of why Aston Villa didn’t send the winger back out on loan.

The Villans also signed right-winger Alyyson Edward, who is sidelined for another couple of weeks, which is surely the only reason why Villa decided to keep Bailey.

The former Bayern Leverkusen man will most likely leave B6 in the summer, and if fit, Alysson would surely be the one on Emery’s bench.

Sancho’s performances aren’t helping Bailey’s playing chances whatsoever.
