Jadon Sancho to make dramatic return as Man United face permanent manager decision
Jadon Sancho may not be totally finished as a Man United player just yet, as rumours swirl around who could be the next permanent manager.
The 25-year-old scored the only goal as Aston Villa beat Fenerbahce 1-0 on Thursday, 22 January, who headed home after a delightful cross from Matty Cash deflected into his path.
Victory means that the Villans have moved up to second in the Europa League table, with only RB Salzburg left to play, but that is not curbing their enthusiasm in the transfer market this month.
Football Insider understands that Villa officials have jetted out to meet Tammy Abraham, but it remains to be seen what their plan is for Sancho, who is currently on loan from Man United.
Michael Carrick is bringing a new lease of life to Old Trafford
The talented winger became part of Ruben Amorim‘s “bomb squad” during the summer transfer window at Old Trafford, alongside the likes of Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund, and Antony.
However, with Michael Carrick now in charge, players like Kobbie Mainoo have been given a new lease of life, while also returning Bruno Fernandes to his natural position in the Manchester derby.
It remains to be seen if the former Middlesbrough man will have his interim period extended beyond the end of the 2025-26 season, but it should not be completely ruled out.

Several big names have been linked, such as Roberto De Zerbi, Xavi, and Xabi Alonso, but should Carrick be given a chance to impress, it could open the door for Sancho to return next season.
Jadon Sancho has a huge fan in the Man United legend
During his first spell as interim manager, Carrick had nothing but positives to say about the winger, suggesting that he has “all the talent in the world” after scoring against Villarreal.
He also praised the player after he “worked his socks off” in the game, and he would make a great addition to the front line of Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko, and Patrick Dorgu.
During the 2021-22 season, the 25-year-old notched five goals and three assists, with another 10 goal contributions in the following campaign, being given a boost by Carrick’s confidence.
The manager would certainly need to persuade the hierarchy that it is best for all parties for Sancho to return, but it could stop United from splashing loads more cash during the summer months.
