‘Jadon Sancho to wind his Man United contract down for free-agent payday’
Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho has been tipped to wait it out until the end of his contract at Old Trafford next year and leave as a free agent.
United’s 2024/25 season could not have gone much worse, with Ruben Amorim unable to help them improve any following his appointment as manager last November.
The Red Devils ended the campaign in 16th position in the Premier League, which was their worst league finish since 1974, while they also lost the Europa League final to Tottenham in a drab affair in Bilbao.
Amorim has a lot of work on his hands to fix his side’s issues, and on-loan winger Sancho is unlikely to be a part of his plans, despite Chelsea choosing not to sign him permanently after a recent loan spell at Stamford Bridge.
The 25-year-old winger joined United for £73million [BBC Sport] from Borussia Dortmund back in 2021, but four years on and a two loan spells away later, he looks set to be left out in the cold at Old Trafford once again this summer.

Simon Jordan unimpressed by Chelsea loanee
Chelsea have chosen not to sign Sancho after his season-long loan spell, and he will now return to United with one year left on his contract and a potential move away in the pipeline, with a return to Dortmund mooted.
Speaking live on talkSPORT on Wednesday (4 June), pundit Simon Jordan voiced his dislike for the England international’s off-field actions at United over recent years, saying: “I’m not a fan of Sancho…the optics of what he does and doesn’t do, I don’t like. I don’t like the fact that he behaved the way he did (at Man United). He’s got a history of being, I think, unprofessional, in terms of not turning up to England camps in a timely fashion.”
Jordan continued to add: “Man United have paid £75million for a player, whether they bought a pup or not, he hasn’t done what he should do…he flattered to deceive at Chelsea again.”
He then went on to predict what he believes Sancho will do next at Old Trafford, with his £300,000 weekly wages [The Mirror] likely to put interested teams off a move, stating: “What he’ll probably do… is, he’s on the last year of his contract, so his reward will be to wind his contract down, because he doesn’t seem to care that much about his England career, and have it all land in his pay packet [as a free agent signing] because no one wants to pay a fee for him.
“What a wonderful world that is.”
Saudi move could appeal to Sancho as he looks to bounce back
Sancho has struggled to make an impact at any club for a good while now, and the last time he scored double figures in a single league campaign was at Dortmund in the 2019/20 season.
He notched 15 goal contributions in 41 appearances in all competitions under Spanish boss Maresca, but was often used as an impact substitute off the bench, and scored just three times in the Premier League.
With his time at Stamford Bridge all but over, Sancho faces a very uncertain future at Man United under Ruben Amorim, with a reprieve in his squad unlikely as he seeks another move away.

The Mirror have reported that no top European club is set to meet his £300,000 weekly wage demands this summer, but they claim that Saudi Arabian sides Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad are all interested in a move.
That would represent a step down in quality for Sancho from the bright lights of the Premier League, but at 25-years-old, a season or two in the Middle East may well appeal as he looks to get his stalling career back on track.
It is certainly the type of transfer that the Pro League are after as they aim to boost their worldwide profile further, and a good campaign there would surely benefit Sancho if he then wanted to move back to Europe and chase silverware at a top club.
