Jadon Sancho trains alone at Aston Villa amid squad absence
Jadon Sancho has yet to set the Premier League alight after joining Aston Villa on a season-long loan this summer.
Sancho was a part of Ruben Amorim’s “bomb squad” at Old Trafford, having spent the 2024-25 campaign with Chelsea, where he notched five goals and eight assists in 41 appearances.
Enzo Maresca‘s side chose not to make the winger’s move permanent, sending him back to the Red Devils. Despite a decent season at Stamford Bridge, Amorim was keen to get rid of him once again.
Football Insider understands that Man United are willing to let Sancho go for free, with his deal ending next summer, which would bring an end to five disappointing years with United.
Now, the 25-year-old appears to be playing for his future at Villa Park.

Jadon Sancho trains away from first-team squad due to illness
Sancho was on the bench for Villa’s 3-1 win over Fulham at the end of September, but he then missed the Europa League clash with Feyenoord, as well as the Premier League game against Burnley, due to illness.
According to the Daily Mail (8 October), while the player was unwell, he trained away from the first-team squad, working separately as he recovered for Villa’s games after the international break.
Since arriving this summer, he has just eight minutes of Premier League football under his belt, with his only start coming against Brentford in the Carabao Cup last month.

Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio made instant impacts following their arrivals in the second half of last season, so supporters have been left disappointed by the 25-year-old so far.
What has Unai Emery said about Sancho at Villa Park?
Speaking after Sancho’s start against Brentford, Emery said: “We use in the starting eleven some players who joined us in the last moment in the transfer window.
“They need to play minutes and get confident, and they played and they performed well,” and fans have been far convinced about the manager’s comments about him.
Luckily for Emery, Emi Buendia has made a huge wave since returning to Villa Park, notching two goals and an assist in nine appearances, coming in clutch against Fulham and Feyenoord.
However, based on how much the Villans are rumoured to have paid to have Sancho on loan, he needs to come good sooner rather than later this season.
