Maddison shared two heartfelt tribute messages on his Instagram story following the tragic death of Jota.
In one post, Maddison wrote: “Oh Diogo… So soooo sad. Honestly devastating. Sending all the love I possess from me and my family to your wife and your family. Rest in peace Diogo & Andre.”

Jota also caused problems for Maddison’s team during his time at Liverpool, including scoring both goals in the Reds’ 2-0 win over Leicester in the 2021/22 season, with photos included during times Maddison had faced the winger.
