James Maddison reacts to emotional Wilson Odobert after Tottenham beat Man United
Wilson Odobert posted on social media after returning to the pitch for only his fourth Premier League appearance of the season as Tottenham beat Manchester United on Sunday.
The 20-year-old has made just six first-team appearances for the Lilywhites since his £25million move from Burnley in the summer.
Odobert underwent surgery on his right hamstring in mid-November, having been kept out since the end of October, before finally working his way back to full fitness.
Making his first appearance since Spurs’ 1-0 Europa League win over AZ Alkmaar in October, the Frenchman replaced Son Heung-min for the final few minutes on 16 February.
With James Maddison scoring the Tottenham winner after just 13 minutes, hitting back at Roy Keane in his celebrations at Hotspur Way, the winger helped see out the 1-0 victory against the Red Devils.
James Maddison welcomes back Tottenham ace from injury
Taking to Instagram following his short cameo on Sunday [16 February], he wrote: “What a feeling,” with heart, praying and ‘back’ emojis to accompany the caption.
Clearly emotional for his injury-hit teammate, James Maddison replied: “Welcome back, Mush,” with a white heart emoji.
The post was also liked by Lucas Bergvall, who joined from Djurdarden during the same transfer window.

Odobert accompanied Guglielmo Vicario, Brennan Johnson and Destiny Udogie back to the matchday squad, though Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Dominic Solanke remain on the sidelines.
Ange Postecoglou handed major boost as injured stars return
Football Insider Verdict
Spurs fans are yet to see the best of Odobert following his big-money move from Turf Moor in the summer, having only made a handful of appearances so far.
His absence has only added to the injury crisis currently plaguing Ange Postecoglou’s tenure, though he will surely welcome back many of his stars with open arms.
The Lilywhites’ 1-0 win over Ruben Amorin’s side sees them jump to 12th in the Premier League table, just seven points off the top half, and the manager’s team is finally coming back together again.
Postecoglou is still without his preferred centre-back partnership but having his first-choice goalkeeper and three pacey attacking threats at his disposal should ease some of the pressure.
