James Milner '100%' to sign new Liverpool contract after news - pundit
Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped James Milner to sign a new Liverpool contract.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England forward claimed his former Aston Villa teammate is the “perfect” squad player for Liverpool.
Milner, 36, made his 36th appearance of the season as the Reds beat Villareal 3-2 last night (3 May) to progress to the Champions League 5-2 on aggregate.
It comes after his man-of-the-match display in the 1-0 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League at the weekend (30 April).
He is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and Klopp is keen to keep him at Anfield.
The Telegraph reported on Sunday (1 May) Liverpool have offered him a one-year extension which the player is set to sign.

Asked whether he expects Milner to be a Reds player next season, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “100 per cent.
“If you’ve got someone like Milner who knows he’s not going to be starting games and knows he’s going to be a bit-part player but when he’s called upon puts in a performance like he did at Newcastle then he’s the perfect player.
“Klopp will want him to be part of his squad. That’s a no brainer and James Milner will sign on for another year at least.”
Milner has played 286 times across all competitions for Liverpool since his free transfer move from Man City in the summer of 2015.
He has won the Champions League, Premier League, EFL Cup, Super Cup and Club World Cup with the Merseyside giants.
