Cesc Fabregas was the catalyst for a wonderful Chelsea display against Crystal Palace, according to Jamie Carragher.
The midfielder has endured a wretched season so far with just three assists in all competitions, but put in a fantastic performance as the Blues picked up all three points in a 3-0 win at Selhurst Park.
Although the Spaniard did not score, he was involved in all three of Chelsea’s goals and Carragher believed an impressive Chelsea performance was down to one man.
“The catalyst for it was Fabregas, that was like Fabregas of last season, ” the former Liverpool defender said speaking to Sky Sports.
“Completely ran the show, had more passes than anyone and goal two and three Fabregas is in the middle of that. A one touch pass which quickens the play up.”
It was Fabregas’ pinpoint through-ball that set Diego Costa away in the lead up to Chelsea’s opener and he again released Oscar with a one touch pass before Willian smashed in Chelsea’s second to ensure the Blues got just their second away win of the season.
Fabregas will be looking to hold on to his renewed confidence when Chelsea meet Scunthorpe in the FA Cup on January 10th.
