Jamie Carragher has described Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane as the shining light for the Merseyside club this season.
The 24-year-old has made a huge impact for the Reds since his arrival from Southampton for £34million in the summer.
He has slotted straight into Jurgen Klopp’s starting line-up and been in great form on the right wing, with Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho completing the attacking set-up.
Liverpool face a huge match against rivals Everton on Saturday in the Premier League and will be looking to consolidate their position inside the top four spots.
Carragher has called Mane a “shining light” ahead of the Merseyside clash, as cited by the Daily Mail.
Liverpool have been unable to fully capitalise on no European football this campaign and are in a tough battle for the top four positions.
Klopp’s side have had far less fixtures than their rivals, but now have just nine games to finish as high in the table as they can.
Mane has been one of the main positives about the club’s season and has made a smooth transition since his transfer.
The Senegal international has made 28 appearances this campaign across all competitions, scoring 12 goals and supplying eight assists.
He will be confident ahead of the Everton match after scoring in a 1-0 victory against the rivals earlier this season.
In other Liverpool news, Dietmar Hamann believes this player will be the difference in the Merseyside showdown.
