Jamie Carragher was right about Mohamed Salah making ‘sacrifice’ to quit Liverpool
Mohamed Salah has a decision to make over his Liverpool future as the January transfer window edges closer.
Salah admitted he had no relationship with Arne Slot after Liverpool’s draw against Leeds United on 6 December.
Following his controversial comments, Salah didn’t travel with the Liverpool squad for their Champions League win over Inter Milan on 9 December.
However, the 33-year-old registered an assist after coming off the bench in Liverpool’s victory over Brighton on 13 December, with the Reds supporters greeting him with an applause.
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has been extremely vocal about Salah’s situation, calling the winger out publicly for his comments.

Mohamed Salah to make ‘odd’ decision in finalising Liverpool exit
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Carragher was right that it would be “odd” for Salah to move to Saudi Arabia in January and “sacrifice” playing for Liverpool in the Champions League in the second half of the campaign.
Football Insider revealed on 7 December Saudi Pro League sides are expected to make offers to sign Salah next month.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson said: “I think, as Jamie Carragher has said, it would be an odd decision for Salah to effectively accelerate a move to Saudi between now and the summer.
“He would sacrifice even being a bit-part player in a push maybe for the Champions League to go play in Saudi Arabia for a few months. If you’re Salah, why would you bother with that?
“No disrespect to the Saudi league, but it seems to me if you have committed to the Saudi league and you can go next season, what’s the rush to get there between January and May when Liverpool could still do things domestically to a lesser extent, but certainly in Europe?”

Salah only signed a new two-year contract at Liverpool in April, extending his deal at Anfield until June 2027.
Liverpool could agree £50m Salah deal
Borson insisted there is still plenty for Salah to play for at Liverpool in the second half of the season following the speculation around his future.
“Domestically, they’re probably too far away from winning the league,” said Borson.
“I know that it’s not impossible, by the way, but it’s probably not going to happen. But they could definitely do something in the Champions League and they can definitely still qualify for next season’s Champions League. There’s lots to play for, there’s still the FA Cup.

“I personally feel selling right, you do a deal with all parties, Liverpool, Saudi, everybody else and say, ‘We’ll do the deal in the summer, £50m let’s say, stay for the end of the season, get my head down, apologise to everybody and see what Liverpool can do, and have one final push at Liverpool’.
“We’re speculating, and he may not come back anyway until maybe the third week of January.”
Salah, who is currently away at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with Egypt, has registered five goals and four assists in 20 appearances for Liverpool this season.
