Jamie Redknapp believes that Everton must do everything in their power to sign Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart in the summer transfer window.
The 30-year-old goalkeeper was not seen as the first choice keeper by Manchester City new boss Pep Guardiola and he left the Etihad to play for Italian Serie A side Torino on a season-long loan.
Hart has been a fixture in the Torino first-team throughout the season, making 35 Serie A appearances and keeping five clean sheets in the process.
His performances have helped the Italian side secure a top half finish in Serie A for the third time in the last four seasons.
Writing in his column for the Daily Mail, Redknapp believes that the England international would suit the Toffees perfectly and claims that money shouldn’t be an issue especially if Everton decide to sell their best players.
“Everton could be a perfect fit for England’s No 1,” he said.
“Ronald Koeman needs a top goalkeeper and will have the funds to bring in Hart — especially if Lukaku makes a big-money move.”
Everton have struggled to stop teams from scoring against them throughout the Premier League campaign as they’ve conceded a total of 44 goals, the joint worst defensive record amongst all the teams in the top seven.
The Toffees ended the Premier League season with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
