Former Denmark international Jan Mobly believes that the Premier League is the best place to be for Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen.
The 25-year-old is currently a crucial member in the starting XI for Spurs and has helped them up to second in the Premier League table.
He has linked up with Denmark during the international break and has been in great form this season.
The attacking midfielder has made 38 appearances this campaign across all competitions, scoring 10 goals and supplying 16 assists.
Former Liverpool ace Molby claims that Eriksen has benefited hugely from the style of football in England and feels it allows him to be much more influential in matches.
“Christian was always perfect for the Premier League,” Molby said, as quoted by the club’s official website. “There are a lot leagues in Europe where there is a lot of attention to man-marking, so when he was with Ajax in Holland, a lot of the time there would have always been someone keeping an eye on him. In England, it’s different.”
Eriksen completed a move to White Hart Lane in 2013 and has been a regular starter for Spurs.
The creative ace has now racked up 169 appearances for the north London club since he departed Dutch giants Ajax.
He previously made 163 appearances for Ajax, scoring 32 goals and supplying 65 assists, before deciding to make the move to England.
Eriksen is one of Mauricio Pochettino’s most used players in the starting XI, but does not receive the same attention as attacking team-mates Harry Kane and Dele Alli.
However, he continues to be an integral part of the success at Spurs and scored in the recent 2-1 win over Southampton in the league.
