27-year-old is the most likely player to quit Leeds this summer – reliable journalist

Pontus Jansson is likely to quit Leeds United this summer if he shines at the World Cup, according to a reliable journalist.
Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Phil Hay claimed on his personal Twitter account on Monday in an exchange with a Leeds supporter that Jansson’s future is shrouded in serious doubt.
Asked if the centre-back, 27, will extend his time at the club into a third season, Hay responded on the social media site that his “gut feeling” is that the defender is more likely than any of his colleagues to leave in the summer window.
Jansson recently claimed he would hold talks with Leeds officials at the end of the season to discuss their plans for the summer and how they intend to build ahead of next season.
Football Insider verdict:
With Jansson certain to be named in the Sweden squad for the World Cup – his place in the starting XI is far less secure – events will be out of Leeds’ control for June and the start of July. Playing alongside top internationals and in an environment of ambition and high performance, Jansson is likely to have his head turned, especially if he makes the Sweden side, and performs to his maximum level. The giant defender’s second season has not lived up to his excellent first one, but he is the club’s prize asset, and the one most likely to attract widespread Premier League interest in the summer window.
In other Leeds United transfer news, the club are working on a deal to sign an English centre-back who has been the best in the league this season.
