Vincent Janssen has told fans that Tottenham “are ready” for Southampton this weekend.
The 22-year-old striker scored his first goal from open play for Spurs during last weekend’s emphatic 6-0 victory over Millwall in the FA Cup.
Star striker Harry Kane was a casualty from the meeting with the Lions, leaving the field after just 10 minutes with what is reported to be an ankle injury.
Now, this could see Janssen receive another starting place in the first team with Claude Puel’s side coming up next at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Ahead of the game, the striker shared on his personal Twitter account an image of both himself and Jan Vertonghen enjoying themselves in training, while sending a warning message to the south coast club.

Janssen has played in 30 matches in all competitions for Tottenham since his £17million move from AZ Alkmaar in the summer, returning just five goals.
Both himself and last week’s hat-trick star Son Heung-min are options to replace the injured Kane, but the South Koeran has been more productive out wide this season.
The England international will be a huge loss for Mauricio Pochettino’s, but he will be hoping that one of his striker’s can step up against a team they beat 4-1 in December.
In other Tottenham news, Spurs fans have reacted on Twitter to Jake Livermore’s England call-up.
