Janssen posts Twitter message to Tottenham fans after poll result
By Harry Sykes
Vincent Janssen has thanked Tottenham supporters after they voted him man of the match in a poll conducted by the club’s official Twitter account.
The Dutch striker got the nod over the likes of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen for his role in Spurs’ stunning 3-1 comeback win at Swansea on Wednesday night.
Tottenham were 1-0 down at the Liberty Stadium when Janssen came off the bench after 61 minutes as a replacement for Moussa Sissoko.
The Dutch striker made a huge impact as the spearhead of the attack, even though the goals were scored by Alli after 88 minutes, and Son Heung-Min and Eriksen in added time.
Spurs supporters acclaimed Jannsen’s performances, with 45 per cent voting him man of the match, ahead of Eriksen (27 per cent), Alli (20 per cent) and Mousa Dembele (eight per cent).

Tottenham’s official Twitter account posted the result alongside an image of Janssen celebrating with Dembele and Jan Vertonghen.
“That picture says it all,” Janssen told supporters on Thursday afternoon, accompanied by smiley emojis. “Thanks everyone”.

Janssen has borne the brunt of criticism from supporters after struggling to make an impact at Tottenham since his £18million transfer from AZ Alkmaar last summer.
The 22-year-old Holland international has scored just five goals, with four of them coming from the penalty spot.
In other Tottenham news, the London giants have won the race to sign a 32-goal striker who has taken the league by storm.
